Review of Lust, Caution (2007) by Trevor H — 29 Oct 2008
Excellent film by Ang Lee, creating the tension of an occupied China during WWII in a tale of espionage and passion. The lust scenes will no doubt shock some, but as always, Lee provokes and challenges the viewer.
In one of the early meetings between Mr Yee and Mak Tai Tai, the glances, the looks, the body language are superbly highlighted, the dialogue kept to an absolute minimum. Brilliant storytelling.
