A film that requires patient viewing (with over two and half hour of running time), the this lushly made and photographed period piece leaves a strong mark on the mind when it ends, reminding why Ang Lee is such a gifted film maker.
Brilliant debut of Tang Wei who holds her own against the veteran Leung.
