(1992) The Lover.
DRAMA.
Like "The Piano" and other drama films, if a film contains something I can't see myself reading or enjoy as a novel then I can't see myself enjoying it as a film as well no matter how well made or accurate is it! Better as a reference rather than to see this as a movie about a wealthy Chinese forbidden affairs with a young white girl during the turn of the century while in Vietnam!
This film was a NC-17 with some scenes cut because of it's subject matter of an affair with a much younger girl but very tame now in today's standards or by comparing with other films! I've only read this somewhere, but don't quote me on it! Just correct me!
