Review of Lover (1992) by Yunita W — 19 Apr 2010
I was left in awe and tears after watching this movie..
I could really feel the young girl true love and hurts towards the chinaman, the sex scene is what mostly people talk about this movie, cause it's very real... but you've got to look beyond just a sex scene. The sex is like a place where they both can really be themselves, to love each other without being judge by their race, backgrounds and family system... which still, eventually tear them apart.
I like that they both don't have a name, it shows that they're just regular people that falls in love.
The music score by Gabriel Yared is also unbelievably beautiful, the Chopin's melody breaks my heart.
