Review of Lover (1992) by Jen H — 13 Apr 2010
Faithful to the novel's tone of neverending melancholy smoothed over by atmosphere and sex (oh my, the sex), but feels much thinner and even more still.
I wasn't feeling Jeanne Moreau's musty turn-off of a voiceover. I -was- feeling Tony Leung Ka Fai, who is hotter than a blowtorch. I'd flaunt social mores for it.
