Review of Love Story (2011) by Andrea M — 02 May 2010
There really wasn't anything substantial in this movie other than a brilliant score and the relationship between the male lead and his father.
The actual "Love Story" between Oliver and Jenny was lacking in passion and general emotion until the last few minutes of the movie. The attempt to make their relationship universal by blatantly cutting God and faith out of the picture attributed greatly to this.... it made their love look extremely dull, misleading, and pointless.
However, there were great one-liners throughout the movie and it addresses the tension between Oliver and his father fairly well, something that a lot of young men go through when letting in a new relationship in their lives.
