Review of Lion (2016) by Andrea M — 21 Jan 2017
Wow.
Really good adaptation an of an excellent book.
Firstly the little boy playing a 5 year old Saroo is just amazing. You feel his fear, apprehension and you hang on his every word. He also has the brightest smile that will melt your heart. Not mine obviously, too manly for that.
The first half of the film is all about how Saroo got lost and the second half is about his search for home. The characters are believable and well acted and the film tugs a little on the emotions but it's well worth the journey.
I would also say it puts life into perspective when you see the conditions on the streets in India and how much poverty there is.
Go see this film.
