Review of Love & Mercy (2015) by Dave C — 01 Jul 2015
LOve & Mercy flips back and forth between the mid 60s and mid-80s to contrast two parts of Brian Wilson's life and collapse.
It suffers from too much of the 60s stuff looking like an episode of The Monkees and it looks as if a lot fo explanatory scenes were left in the editing room as characters come and go without explanation, some rather important.
The 80s sections are completely taken over by Paul Giametti as the villainous psychiatrist who takes control of Wilson's life and money.
Good but not quite great, and Heroes & Villains might have been a better title.
