Review of Love & Mercy (2015) by Justin B — 25 Jan 2016
A crittically lauded and unfortunately underseen gem by the masses, Love and Mercy is a look into the live of Brian Wilson at two separate points in his life, as he reaches the heights of his productivity with the Beach Boys as his mental health rapidly disintegrates and him gradually emerging in a more subdued way as he is being managed by a seedy manager looking to profit by his ill health after years of his self imposed sit in only to be brought back to the world by the new love in his life portrayed by Elizabeth Banks.
Both Cusack and Dano do really great suitaly portraying the twitches and difficulties that Wilson had to battle through, as well as portraying how Wilson came up with some of the most iconic soundscapes of the California rock sound, while Giamanti has the market cornered on corrupt music managers, A must see for all music fans :).
