Review of Love & Mercy (2015) by James C — 25 Jun 2016
Juxtaposing the later life of Brian Wilson meeting his second wife in the 80s against his burgeoning creativity and neuroses of his youth in the 60s,.
His unconventional story resonates profoundly.
Clear and passionate in its emotions and visuals, it taps into a bit of what makes Brian Wilson tick, with a kind, sweet grace and a stunning visual style. It perfectly adds a tone and quality to the 60s and the 80s that enhances yet doesn't get in the way of showing and explaining the elements surrounding this Beach Boy and his genius.
5 good vibrations out of 5.
