A journey through the interesting, incredible and unique life of The Beach Boys' Brian Wilson and his qualities and downfalls as a musician. This peculiar film pans in and out of Brian's young life as the main member of The Beach Boys (creating and recording the many songs we've come to love while constantly being pressured by his fame, drugs, his father's mistreatment, and even bickering from his own band mates) and his messed up life as a grown up [falling in love with his future wife Melinda (Elizabeth Banks) and at the same time being completely controlled Borge mentally and physically by his doctor (Paul Giamatti)].
