Just saw Love & Mercy and I left the theater like I was invited into the private and unknowable world of a true creative genius. It was a story that felt both tragic and redemptive. Wilson was trapped in the 1980s and you felt how hopeless his life had become.

I thought I knew some fleeting details of Brian Wilson's life... but this pic made sense of the question, "what happened to Brian Wilson." If you only know the Beach Boys from their surfer hits, you must see this movie.

Paul Giamatti is so despicable I wanted to get out of my seat and slap him. (Supporting actor nomination in the works?).
