Review of Love and Death (2013) by Jen H — 05 Mar 2007
Five stars all the way, baby. Probably the only film that has managed to combine slapstick humor, philosophy, Ingmar Bergman, and Russian literature to a great effect. It probably helps if you've read the source material he is parodying--seeing Battleship Potemkin and several Bergman films certainly wouldn't hurt, either.
Next to 'Annie Hall', this is my favorite Allen film.
