Aftr watching imtiaz ali's "jab we met" two years back, I expected big things from this one.. but u never know wid bollywood wid their inconsistency n horrible experiments.. love aaj kal is a complex love story that is not easy to write n more difficult to execute.. its abt two lovestories from different era having similar endings.. previously bollywood has been very average when it come to make a light heart love story movie bcoz it is mostly dragged n wid predictable outcome.. but wid dis one imtiaz ali hit nail on its head n present a beautiful venture of two n half hour.. the wonderful part of the movie is its screenplay which makes u connect in the movie.. the characters r wonderfully developed as the director did in "jab we met".. editing is great, u just dont get out of the movie.. often u get bored of bollywood movie in the later half but in love aaj kal d second hour is the soul of the film.. the lovestory in the past era is absolutely flawless, writing in it is simple yet it is beautifully executed n seems priceless ... dialogues r one of the best iv witness in bollywood.. there r some very sweet one liners.. wat to say abt direction? imtiaz ali is a wonderful storyteller, a genius.. the way he potrays both lovestory isnt easy but he accomplish it wid supremacy.. there is no point in the movie that makes u feel the movie is dragged.. dis is a forward thinking film that handles the new-age relationships with complete understanding... music is easily the best this year.. my favorite was "yeh dooriya","ahun ahun", "twist" n "raba mujhe"..

Now the acting.. if kareena was jab we met then saif is love aaj kal.. dis is his movie. in my opinion his expressions r even better then in omkara.. mind u he got 2 difficult roles but his expressions were matchless.. only drawback was his unable to speak perfect punjabi (spoke partly urdu as a "pakka" sardar).. shouldv given more time practising it.. neverthless he was fantastic..deepika is surprisingly great.. didnt expect much from her, but she handled her part very well.. specially her last scene was worth cheering her (hidden) talent :).. the new girl does her part very well as a villiage girl.. she looks cute, although she has limited dialogue but her expressions r very lovable n impressive.. rishi kapoor is fantastic in cameo.. rahul khana does well in a brief outing..

On the whole love aaj kal is one of the best bollywood love story iv seen.. from direction to acting, from music to cinematography n from writing to editing, everything is first class.. if u like bollywood movies dont miss it, if u dont like bollywood u will atleast start liking imtiaz ali work in bollywood..

Verdict: terrific.
