Review of Lost in Translation (2003) by Timothy J — 25 Apr 2013
A little slow moving at first but the characters are engaging. Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansen play two Americans in Tokyo. Two fish out of water who are lonely and bored. What was nice was that this movie could have gone toward a tawdry May-December relationship.
Which would have been so stereotypical. But it doesn't go that way. In fact the two characters never form a sexual relationship. In fact the relationship is very sweet between the two and very respectful.
A genuine love developed between the two. Worth a watch. Directed and produced by Francis Ford Coppola daughter.
