Review of Lost in Translation (2003) by Yash B — 11 Oct 2018
Sofia Coppola's "Lost in Translation" is definitely a unique film that says a lot with showing very little. The movie is pretty uneventful, but I think that is also part of the point. It shows two very different individuals forming an unlikely bond and showcases loneliness in two different, yet similar ways.
Both Bill Murray and Scarlett Johansson give good performances here and they are the main reason this movie is worth checking out. Despite some good things going for the movie, I did find myself pretty bored by parts of this movie.
It is a slow paced drama in every way but at the same time, that's part of what makes it so realistic and effective.
