Review of Lost in Translation (2003) by Andy S — 09 Aug 2015
Bill Marley performs as an actor who is weary of married life in a low-keyed way. Scarlett Johansson who is just before an international break through as a star acts as a lonely young wife. Relation of the two characters are fresh and touching. Sophia Coppola, a daughter of Francis Ford Coppola, distinguished herself as a director. Tokyo through visitor's eyes is fresh.
Director Sophia Coppola says the movie is half-biography. She married Director Spike Jones in 1999 and visited Tokyo with him. She divorced in 2003 when the movie is released.
