I lived in Japan 2004-6 and watching this film struck so many chords of my experience. Brilliantly observed and the classically restrained romance counters the obvious sense of alienation that being in Tokyo creates in you.
I loved Tokyo and this film seemed to me to be a passionate love letter about it.
