Review of Lost in La Mancha (2002) by Aj S — 11 May 2010
Everyone has watched the making of a movie through DVD features, but seeing one about a failed movie that was never finished, now that's an eye catcher. Famed director Terry Gilliam ("Brazil" & "The Adventures of Baron Munchousen") is attempting to direct a long time passion project called, "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote", and it's trials of pre-production to the fatal abandonment of it's first week of shooting.
This is movie that basically teaches on how to NOT make a movie, you learn from the mistakes, yet the filmmakers really don't, not until the end of the production. Amazingly enough, Gilliam is getting a second chance of redemption, he's earned the rights back to his script from the insurance company and will now be making the movie! Finally expect "The Man Who Killed Don Quixote" in 2011, a movie literally 22 years in the making, take that James Cameron!
