Review of Lost Highway (1997) by Cuz'n S — 22 Jun 2009
Haunting beauty. The images splash across your mind and stay there.
I remember clearly the day I first saw it, in some small cineplex theatre (on College) and after the lights came up I was dumbfounded. "What the hell did I just see?" and that was likely many people's reactions. But as I thought LESS about trying tounravel it and just allow it to play across my conscious and subconscious, I found that it had a very simple story.
It is haunting beauty and jarring violence. It is a dream and a nightmare. And there in the middle is the Mystery Man, freak'n the sh!t outta me!
Love it.. Not perfect, but wonderfully made film.
