Review of Looking for Eric (2009) by Elgan D — 14 Jun 2009

I should really have loved this but it did not quite work for me. The tone of the film just felt a little wrong, the soundtrack and the writing reminded me of a family film although the themes of the film (alcoholism,mental illness, drugs and gun crime) were quite distant from faily film fare.

The ending was very feel good, Steve Evets is good and Cantona has a real presence on screen. My favourite bits were the clips of the king on the football field, could have watched 2 hours of that.
