Aspects of the plot were ahead of its time but the film is dragged down by some ludicrously bad FX, uneven direction by Chricton, and some really dated "Last Days of Disco" early 1980s fashions.
Finney and Coburn are good and there is a surprising amount of nudity for a PG film (including a post-PARTIRDGE FAMILY pre-L.A. LAW Susan Dey; where is she now?). When the plot begins to drag, Chricton interjects a group of sinister assasins with an Ingram SMG to try and kill Finney and Dey.
How 1980s, how cliched.
