Review of Lonesome Jim (2005) by David S — 26 Dec 2008
Directed by actor Steve Buscemi, Lonesome Jim is a very small film that is very reminiscent of Garden State. Casey Affleck plays a depressed man who returns home to his dysfunctual family and learns some lessons.
Pretty basic in plot you know what will happen at the end about half way through. The jokes are very dark, though Liv Tyler as a nurse who digs Affleck from his depressed state is very likeable and lifts the film.
This film won't break new ground though is worth a look.
