Review of London to Brighton (2006) by Jonathan G — 04 Oct 2008
There are two great performances in this, and Lorraine Stanley is very, very good, but I think Johnny Harris is the most memorable as the slightly disconnected, desperate pimp. It's a nice marriage of sound and vision, tranche de vie and pathos: I'd have liked to have seen more of Derek and less of Stuart Allen, but the central plot is resolved cleverly enough, without descending into either self-pity or mawkishness.
