Review of London Boulevard (2010) by Chris A — 18 Apr 2011
Starts off well enough, but this well meaning brit gangster flick is severely hampered by not having a proper 'Londoner' in the lead - especially as his accent wavers from Devon, to Newcastle and back to the Emerald Isle.
Stupid casting aside this is watchable rubbish, but I can't help feeling i've seen better before - and most likely in episodes of The Bill or Prime suspect. Knightley always lovely to see, but phones in her performance here, and a decent support is largely wasted - though a welcome , if too brief return to the screen for Thewlis.
If in doubt, watch Get Carter or Snatch instead.
