Review of Lolita (1962) by Anders A — 21 Sep 2015
Based on Nabokovs novel, Kubrick´s jealousy triangle takes place in the home a of widow whos lonesome and lovesick to the bone. An professor in his 40+ is moving in the house as his is looking for a room to rent.
He falls completely in love with the womans daughter who is stunningly beautiful and 14 years old. The daughter Lolita is using her looks and growing interest in men to make the professor as interested as possible, indeed she succeeds.
Her love sick mama falls in love with the professor at first sight, after a while she is sensing the tension between Lolita and the professor. This resulting in punishing Lolila, and therefore in a sense pushing them together.
