Review of Lolita (1962) by Tanner B — 15 Aug 2016
Lolita (1962) 152m. ??? D: Stanley Kubrick. James Mason, Shelley Winters, Sue Lyon, Peter Sellers. Strange, fascinating adaptation of Vladimir Nabokov's equally strange novel about middle-aged college professor Mason who becomes infatuated with young Lyon.
Long but completely engrossing, and boasts strong acting; Sellers is superb. Exquisitely shot in B&W by Oswald Morris. Remade in 1997.
