Review of Logan's Run (1976) by Ricky M — 21 Sep 2008
Classic piece of pre Star Wars 70's sci fi when these things had more thought provoking themes.
This is set in an idyllic future, so long as you like living in a 70's mall, where everyone lives purely for pleasure, only trouble is life ends at 30. Only chance is renewal at Carousel or to 'run'.
Michael York plays Logan a sandman whose job it is to terminate anyone trying to run who comes to question his entire belief system after meeting Jenny Agutter, and well what man wouldn't?
This still works really well, special effects still pretty good, the pace is slightly slow but in keeping with the times and the music is excellent.
I really enjoy this everytime I watch it.
