Very good science-fiction adventure! Also, one of the most intriguing sci-fi premises ever. Acting, directing and film score are top notch. The costumes look dated, but oh well! The effects are good, but are hemmed in by the kind-of-jerky model photography.
Won an Academy Award for effects, along with the '76 "King Kong." But, that film featured a guy in a suit, so...
