Review of Logan (2017) by Xishnik — 05 Mar 2017
I really don't see why everyone is so ready to praise this film. It's mediocre at best. Not great as a superhero movie, not great as a western. A campy slow building film with shallow villains with nonsensical motivations.
A plot that has enough short sightings to make one cringe *spoilers* 1.Let's go to canada where we will be safe when the villians are already crossing borders from mexico and could care less about borders.
2. Let's Kill all of the children from the experiments but wait lets take the GIRL ALIVE. *end spoiler* **** exposition leaving the viewer confused as to where the **** all of the x-men are and why all of them are dead.
Lot's of gore to the point of being goofy (lot's of face stabbing). LOTS OF FACE STABBING. FACE EXPLOSIONS. shallow character deaths and depths, with little to no emotions. Everyone saying it's the perfect 'goodbye' is officially an emotionaless zombie.
They died in vain to what their characters stood for. The movie truges slowly for the middle hour and half to point of incredible boredom with logane doing nothing but cursing or staring at the road or his companions.
Notable mentions are Patrick stewarts attempt at somwhat redeeming the movie (somewhat). All in all the praise for this movie is undeserved. It's a shortsighted overproduced campy gorey goofy and shallow movie.
A shallow ending for a hero that's been in the X-men series for over a decade.
