Little children is an interesting movie about the lives of four people. One of them, Kate Winslet, has moved from a big city to a village and is confrontated with the narrow-mindness of the mothers there. She has no work and is 24/7 with her child. And even worse: she hates her husband. She gets a relationship with an unhappy father. Ofcourse they fall in love. This relationship is filmed very well. They are thinking about how their lives will be if they would be together. Another storyline is that one of a pedophile, who tries to live as a normal person. He lives with his Mom and can't do anything without her. The last storyline is about a retired cop, who has his own issues.

The whole story is well told and deep. It's really sad but funny at the same time. It is the first movie that made me feel sympathy for a pedophile. The downside is that the relation between Kate Winslet and her husband doesn't get enough attention. You don't really know how their relationship is, while the movie focuses a lot on the relationship between the other guy and his wife. It was a strong and really good movie but didn't feature something you've never seen before - except maybe for the pedophile, but that was a sideline of the story.
