Review of Little Children (2006) by Nickthecritick — 19 Oct 2022
The film tells the story of married couples whipped by boring partners, spoiled children and predictable lives, which in the day look like perfect families while in the night they are anything but. Sarah is a married mother with a husband, Richard, who is obsessed with internet porn.
Todd is a stay-at-home father married to Kathie, a documentary filmmaker obsessed with getting him to resume his legal career. Mary Ann is an organized supermom with a 4-year-old daughter already with a future destined for Harvard.
And finally Ronnie, a pedophile released from prison who returns home. In this climate of dysfunctional families, Sarah and Todd begin a story that takes them back to the age of adolescence, in that period of freedom between the responsibilities of childhood and those of being parents.
A good second film by Todd Phillips, a film about the American suburbs and various personalities that populate it. Single stories (which intertwine) of lonely people (who find each other). To be seen.
