Review of Little Ashes (2008) by Priyanka B — 17 Oct 2009
I think this one is very weird, and I don't know how to explain what I thought. In the very begining I felt a forced introduction of the main characters and the way they met. Probably, as it was based on some Dali's texts, it was the way it happened...even though you can't trust Salvador's twisted brain.
Pattinson's performance was a little overacted, but it might be justified by the eccentricity of his role.
In the other hand, Beltran's role was performed with the subtlety of Lorca's personality and I'm buying the whole action.
It ended when it has to end..and can give a guideline to a movie based on Dali's life after Federico's death.
Nice movie. Very complete. Great character construction.
