Review of Lincoln (2012) by Jared B — 14 Nov 2013
I had wanted to see this movie since I first heard that it was being made. But, like so many other movies, I ended up waiting till it hit DVD. To say it was worth the wait would be a gross understatement.
This movie is flat-out AMAZING. How this lost the Best Picture Oscar to a little-known movie like "Argo" is beyond me. Daniel Day-Lewis, one of the greatest actors alive, does a remarkable job as Lincoln.
He's so believable that, within just the first few minutes, I forgot I was watching him, and thought I was watching the real Abraham Lincoln. Also brilliant are stars like Sally Field, Tommy Lee Jones, David Strathairn, And James Spader.
But, one of the reasons they're so good, in my opinion, is that they were under the direction of the Master, Steven Spielberg. He directs in such a way you think you're really living back in 1865.
Long story short, if you haven't seen this movie, I STRONGLY recommend it!
