Review of Limelight (1952) by Gurur S — 23 Jan 2008
The best of Chaplin's sound films. It's clear that Chaplin is playing someone not too dissimilar to himself. Always a treat to see a young artist rising to fame, especially when they have such a strong mentor.
Claire Bloom does a wonderful job playing the young artist falling in love with the elderly teacher. Obviously, it can only end in one way.
