Review of Lights Out (2016) by Ginak — 23 Jul 2016
If you are a fan of horror films, you will find this film interesting, but it had a lot of faults. Among them were a weak script (and an especially weak exposition) and actors who were not very interesting to watch (Maria Bello was fine, but the weak script did not help her much).
Once the unnecessarily complicated lives were “exposed” and explained, the action was decently done. Using a live person for the “monster” and not CGI was very effective as was the lighting and some of the special effects.
Was it a happy ending? I’ll leave that to you to decide since I refuse to spoil it for you.
