Review of Lights Out (2016) by Thesodomizer — 08 Jun 2018
Lights out is a fun midsummer horor movie, nothing more, nothing less. With mediocre acting (which is today better than most horor movies), mediocre directing and mediocre writing I didn't reach the heights it aimed for, but it was still fun considering you're seeing the same scare over and over again.
What makes Lights out fun and somewhat good is the plot and how it develops. The plot focuses itself more on the family rather than the monster. It did have its scares as mentioned but I was also a drama about s family crisis.
Nevertheless the alse minor plot holes and a gap of what it wants to become and what it is, which doesn't earn it much praise. Turn off your brain and enjoy it.
