Review of Lifeboat (1944) by Jason H — 09 Nov 2008
Absolutely wonderful. Real characters-challenged, redefined, examined. Brilliantly shot in such a confined space. Hitchcock proves he can do so much with so very little. Also, awesome cameo. Stellar writing, obviously, because it is Steinbeck, who is the greatest.
Actually fresh commentary on the rules of war and living together, particularly as regards Willi, the German. Connie Porter is also my hero and role model.
