Review of Lifeboat (1944) by Andrea E — 15 Jul 2010
Latest addition to best film characters OAT: Tallulah Bankhead as Connie Porter in Hitchcock's Lifeboat. Surveying the sunken debris of the ship around her, she lights a fag, looks at a ladder in her tights & tuts.
Then films a survivor struggling to board the lifeboat. And [referring to using her (fake) bejeweled bracelet as fish bait]: "I can recommend the bait. I know. I bit on it myself." Gawd love 'er.
