Review of Life of Brian (1979) by Michael H — 11 Oct 2012
This movie is nowhere near as funny as The Holy Grail but Life Of Brain does spawn some powerful laughes with Brains Mother. Brain Cohen was born on Christmas day. He is believed to be the messiah by many people. When he fails to hear any of the Sermon of the Mount his adventure follows him being chased by romans and meeting aliens. Brains Mother Might be one of the only things in the movie they made me laugh hard. Not to mention the roman scene where Pontius says ridiculously funny names. But its all talk and no fun for the most part. The talk is so stale that it bored me to death not to mention its dreadfully long. The music is wonderfully composed. The opening credits scene is so awfully made 3/4 of the time I couldnt tell who's names were being shown. The most memorable line of the movie is when Brain's Mother Said "Now You Listen Here, Hes Not The Messiah, HES A VERY NAUGHTY BOY!" That had me laughing out hard. But by far the best part of the movie is the ending of the film where the finale of the film is the music number "Always Look On The Bright Side Of Life" it is such a good music number that it should have been nominated for a oscar for best original song. Monty Pythons The Life of Brian isnt that funny but it still worth a watch.
74/100 B-.
