Review of Life of Brian (1979) by Tony P — 03 Apr 2018
Well you all know what I thought of the Monty Python and the Holy Grail and now we have a sequel Monty Python's Life of Brian. So I sat down and watched it and I gotta say, it is really as good as each other.
I dare even say on par with Mr Bean, Fawlty Towers and Blackadder. Yeah, after watching Blackadder that what I think about it, I can't believe I'm a huge fan of British comedies. I've been a fan of Mr Bean for years and years and years.
Life of Brian is about a young boy named Brian who is jewish mistaken for the Messiah and that's it. What I didn't mention which is quite stupid of me is that six actors Graham Chapman, John Cleese, Terry Gilliam, Eric Idle, Terry Jones and Michael Palin playing different characters in different people.
Wouldn't you believe it? It did the same thing to Monty Python and the Holy Grail and I'm sure it did that to the TV show Fliying Circus. There are alot of scenes that automatically make me laugh.
Get a load of this. I laughed at the scene where Brian is captured by the guards take him to Pontius Pilate where Michael Palin mentions the joke name but I'm sure you'll know who it is and why.
The name that made me laugh hard would be... Biggus... Dickus. That's right and here is how. Anybody else feel like a little... giggle... when I mention my fwiend... Biggus... ... Dickus? What about you? Do you find it.
.. wisible... when I say the name... 'Biggus'... ... Dickus? He has a wife, you know. You know what she's called? She's called... 'Incontinentia'... Incontinentia Buttocks. I just can't stop laughing, it's a f£$king gut-split! After that Brian runs away and he jumped and flew out into space in the spaceship with two aliens on board.
Now that will make you laugh! I do like the opening song in the opening credits and the ending song that Eric Idle sings a song about looking on the bright side, Always Look on the Bright Side Of Life.
There's is one that everyone's been laughing about much like Biggus Dickus and Incontinantia Buttocks, everyone including my Dad remembers the line which Brian's mother has been saying called "He's not the Messiah, he's a very naughty boy!" Now that is memorably hilarious! Life of Brian is fantastic and gut-splittingly funny all the way through the film experience.
Throughout my teenagehood I never laughed so hard I am really in tears while laughing at something so funny it made my eyes cry. But whatever they know this is one of the greatest comedies of all time much like Monty Python and the Holy Grail.
Two of them are my favourite. Two of them I laughed all the way through and the reason for that is I am in the cutting-edge of laughing. Now is there something I'm missing here? The Meaning of Life? Um, join me in the next one.
