Review of Life Is Beautiful (1997) by Kickingtheplace — 16 Apr 2019
This movie is a pile of garbage and I'm saying that with all my honesty after watching it. The story is terrible and dull whereas the characters in this film disrespected the reality regarding the treatment of the Jews.
It makes no sense from the story line whatsoever and Robert Bengini made the theme cheerful and hopeful which doesn't seem to add well for a movie to be based on a WWII and Holocaust setting. Even though it's presented on a matter of fiction but reflects the reality of the event, It's a bad movie that you shouldn't watch.
Steven Spielberg's "Schindler's List" will always be the truly emotional and superior film based on the events that happened in the Holocaust. Why? because it's a Spielberg film and he does not disappoint and the fact he comprises reality more than fiction.
Unlike Roberto Bengini, he is disrespecting the theme by creating a film that is presented in a cheerful matter and thinking that it's best to add a level of inconsistency to the story line.
