Review of Life Is Beautiful (1997) by Jacob R — 07 Jul 2012
Masterpiece. The movie blends the disgusting reality of the holocaust into a laughable yet emotional situation. The audience doesn't know whether to laugh or cry and and the end most of them will do both.
The lengths that a man would go to save his family from death is amazing, just by simply illustrating to his son that they are just playing a game in the concentration camp. The comedy in this movie works real well, and so does the emotion.
Benigni's oscar is well deserved.
