Review of Life Is Beautiful (1997) by Paul M — 06 Aug 2013
A perfect romantic comedy. full of love, hope, charm, and everything you can ask for. it has everything a romance should have. the charming male lead, the sweet female lead, the slapstick, the romantic walks around town, everything.
its just perfect. Roberto Benigni proves his talent for acting and directing. he proves to be funny, goofy, dramatic, courageous. he's possibly the best actor of a generation of comedians. Nicoletta Braschi plays an average female romance lead.
she isn't really given anything to do, but that's all right. its Benigni who steals the show (winning the Oscar for best actor in a motion picture for his performance). the film is very heartbreaking at times.
it doesn't just exist as a slapstick romance, it can be disturbing, emotionally stimulating, tear jerking, magnificent! GOD! I love this movie! not even a five star rating can do the film justice! an amazing film! remarkable and beautiful.
