Review of Let's Scare Jessica to Death (1971) by Loner Moves . — 04 Jan 2008
Absolutely felt this. It was stunning in so many ways although maybe the vampire thing could have been left out. The soundtrack alone is a direct lesson in how to achieve unease, disorientation and atmosphere without resorting to fancy visual effects or overblown scores.
I fell in love with Jessica, she seemed so vulnerable and yet slightly alien. Impenetrable almost. But it is a film that people will tend to either love or hate hence the 4 stars.
