Review of Lethal Weapon 2 (1989) by Lee B — 25 Jul 2009
Well, part 1 was a great movie. Great action, good acting, nice atmosphere, interesting story, fun. This one, at least, is fun and Glover and Gibson definitely came into their own with their rapport. However, the action isn?t all that great and the story was so patched together that it wasn?t ideal. Then, there?s Joe Pesci. It this was the only one he was in, it would be acceptable. He may be one of the worst recurring characters in action movies.
I saw this in theaters a long time ago. It?s on TV a lot. I tend to not watch this one as a repeat (though I did this last time on TV, which is why I review it). The first one is definitely one of my repeat views when I just want to zone out. I haven?t seen part 3 since the movie theaters, where I almost fell asleep ? not purely because of the movie. I?ve seen part 4 one-and-a-half times. It brought Jet Li to Hollywood and I watched the ending again one time on TV. Chris Rock was a horrible addition to this franchise. But enough of that, this is about part 2. 3 stars. I?ll leave it at that.
