Review of Les Misérables (1998) by Melissa L — 14 Apr 2008

I LOVE the musical and the FOF Radio Theater version of the story of Les Miserables, but I thought the movie fell very short of it. Although the acting was excellent, it couldn't make up for what I felt was a poor grasp of Jean Valjean's character.

However, that being said - I have never read the book. Is it possible that the book and this movie are a closer match than the musical and the Radio Theater was? If so, I will change my rating.
