Review of Lenny (1974) by John C — 27 Nov 2010
A good film that just misses the mark of greatness thanks to a bloated first hour which is consumed by Lenny Bruce's relationship with his wife. The domestic life scenes just don't have the punch that the second half has with its portrayal of Bruce's many legal battles.
Hoffman's performance, though, is quite stunning.
