Review of Leatherheads (2008) by Ross M — 30 Dec 2008
As with "Step Brothers", I am usually a fan of George Clooney ("Michael Clayton" is phenomenal..."Batman and Robin" exists in an alternate universe), but was greatly disappointed here.
He has succeeded as a director in the past, and I was hoping that maybe it was just bad box office timing with this film...it's not. Intended to be a throwback to the old screwball comedies of the 40s and 50s, it just doesn't work here.
The dialogue is choppy, story kinda just meh...and surprisingly even the acting isn't up to par. See it if you must, but I find it a great disappointed considering what Clooney had done in the past.
