Review of Leatherheads (2008) by Evan S — 28 Aug 2009

This film can be summed up as a huge turd in 3 points.

1. Renee Zellweger is no longer sexy nor attractive. She hit the wall around 35, and yet the industry still continues to cast her in the roles of the desirable woman. She's not. "Appaloosa" made the same mistake, and that was even more ridiculous.

2. The movie goes back and forth between screwball comedy and sports drama. As such, it fails miserably on both fronts.

3. The final game is so insultingly stupid that it decimates EVERYTHING good about the film that occurred prior, which isn't much to begin with.

How is it insultingly stupid? It's a big fucking mud bowl game and no one can tell which team is which. BIG SWERVE AHEAD!!!

Yeah, this film sucks. Avoid like cancer.
